Condensation and Damp
Condensation and Damp gets confused when mould is found growing on walls and surfaces in buildings. With buildings becoming more air tight and with double glazing coupled to central heating, the incidence of illness through the effects of condensation is dramatically increasing. The health dangers of mould from condensation, affecting people and especially the elderly and young children are not well known by homeowners.
Mould growth will appear on any damp surfaces such as plaster, wallpaper, timber and can be associated with condensation problems in many buildings - however it can also be caused by flooding and the escape of water; leading to unacceptable odours and appearance and the possibility of health concerns such as serious respiratory problems, and the aggrevating of Asthma.
